Pre-Holiday Wellness: Tone & Restore Workshop Series with special guest Dominique Cheshire

Yoga Seven is delighted to welcome special guest instructor Dominique Cheshire for a two-day workshop series.

These workshops serve as a way to have your own pre-holiday retreat to tone and recharge. Saturday will be all about exploring your “core unit”. We will be using Roll Model® Therapy Balls to investigate your deep core muscles, building up to a sweaty – but sweet – core workout. Sunday is all about restoring and relaxing. You will be guided through a head to toe self massage using Roll Model® Therapy Balls to encourage any aches and pains to release. You will be offered an optional mini-reiki treatment to close the session, as we wind down with some mindfulness meditation. Treat yourself to some pre-holiday pampering, preparing your mind, body, and soul for all the festivities ahead.

Dominique is a lover of movies, food, fashion and movement. She has spent her life thus far investigating different ways our bodies facilitate movement, and the importance of mind-body connection. With a background in Ballet and Contemporary dance she has been educated through various schools- most notably Canada’s National Ballet School, and The School of Toronto Dance Theatre. After living through an experience that changed her gaze from expressive based movement, to rehabilitative based movement. Dominique fell in love with Pilates, completing her STOTT Mat and Reformer training in 2014. It has been her passion to embrace rolls both as a teacher and student, completing multiple rehabilitative courses and movement faculties – most recently completing her 200hr Yoga Teacher Training, and Roll Method Training. She believes the body is a fully connected, intuitive vessel. The more we can nourish and listen to this vessel, the better equipped we are to flow through our lives. It is her goal as an energy and movement facilitator to continue learning, sharing, and encouraging a loving mind-body connection.

PELVIC FLOOR AND CORE

Whether you are new to Pilates, or a seasoned professional this workshop is for you. We refine what ‘core unit’ means, and how to access it properly for your individual needs. The workshop will begin with some core release work using The Roll Model® Therapy Balls – it must relax fully to contract fully! Pelvic floor awareness will help demystify where in the body we are connecting to, and what that should feel like. The workshop builds to completing a full core workout … surprising (and encouraging!)  you with just how much it takes to build your six pack!

PLEASE NOTE: This workshop is designed for those with functioning healthy spines and mild movement limitations … it is NOT appropriate for prenatal and those with serious spinal/movement injuries.

RELAX, ROLL, AND REIKI
Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 2:00pm to 3:30pm:
 
This therapeutic workshop will leave you feeling relaxed, restored, and rejuvenated. Starting with a calming meditation, we will scan the body for any aches/pains, or massage requests. We will then be using The Roll Model® Therapy Balls to facilitate our own yummy massages- targeting specific areas in the body, to encourage the ultimate release of fascial and myofascial tension. The workshop closes with a guided relaxation, and an optional reiki buzz, to bring all elements of the body into a deep restoration. This is the perfect workshop for anyone who experiences chronic pain, has a body, or just LOVES a good personal spa day!

200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training: Anatomy of a Healthy Life Module #1 begins January 2019

Yoga Seven is proud and excited to partner with Ambassador Yoga to offer a revolutionary 200-hour yoga teacher training program. Based on the 8 Limbs of Yoga, the training hours have been broken down into four 50-hour modules. The modules can be completed in any order, at a pace that fits your busy life. Choose to complete all 4 modules or take just one deep-dive 50-hour intensive to strengthen your practice and expand your knowledge. Completion of all four modules contains all the fundamental elements required for your certification and registration with Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher 200 (RYT 200).

Yoga Seven’s comprehensive Ambassador Yoga Program is designed for passionate yoga practitioners with a thirst for knowledge who are interested in advancing and deepening their personal yoga and meditation practice, as well as for aspiring teachers who are ready to take the next step and turn their passion into a career.

We will begin this amazing journey together with the “Anatomy of a Healthy Life Module” in January 2019. Learn the technical aspects of the classical yoga postures (asanas) and the human anatomy and physiology required to teach them. You’ll advance your own physical practice and become confident instructing five powerful breathing techniques (pranayama). Deepen your understanding of the ways yoga creates strength and balance with a complete examination of the body locks (bandhas) and how modern science is used to support and demystify yogic traditions.

  • PASSIONATE YOGA STUDENTS with a thirst for knowledge who want to advance and deepen their personal yoga practice in a community of like-minded individuals.
